Sisterhood  Events and Updates

WHAT WE DO

Sisterhood is a link in a chain that starts right here and stretches back through many generations of Judaism to countless other women who have come together out of strength, need and love. Some of the ways we provide this link include:

• Observe Jewish traditions by serving apples and honey on Rosh Hashanah, special Oneg Shabbat treats for Erev Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot, and Break-the-Fast for Yom Kippur.
• Supply beautiful Judaica through the Gift Shop and the Hanukkah Gift Bazaar.
• Assist the congregation with printed invitation needs, selling discounted bar/bat mitzvah and wedding invitations in addition to personal stationery items.
• Support the Social Action committee’s many projects and activities.
• Raise funds for SKIP (Send-a-Kid-to-Israel Partnership) and special synagogue projects (building expansion, parking lot, etc.).
• Join the Brotherhood in joint programs such as Shabbat dinner & service and Soup, Bread and Game Night.
• Provide babysitting during High Holiday Services.
• Meet through the year for special events and fun, interesting programs. 

Our meetings are held monthly, usually on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30. Meetings are either in the multipurpose room at the synagogue or at Westlake.

Each meeting features a nosh and a brief business meeting followed by a program with informative speakers on topics of interest to all. All members and guests are welcome to attend the meetings.
