Etz Chaim and Israel

As a congregation, Etz Chaim feels strong ties to Israel. We are attentive to the political situation and are concerned about the well-being of its citizens. We support the Reform movement there, and have a longstanding relationship with a “sister congregation” in Ranana. We have a new and developing relationship with Congregation Or Hadash in Haifa. Trips to Israel have been led by Rabbi Bob and Anne Stein and include adult trips, family trips and teen trips. Additionally, we have family and friends who live there.

We have close ties to Yad Lakashish, Lifeline for the Old, in Jerusalem.   

Many of our families participate in SKIP, Send-a-Kid-to-Israel Partnership  a savings program in which the family, the congregation and the Federation participate. Funds are available for appropriate trips to Israel during high school or college.
