Seniors Meeting- December 5, 2012
Come at noon for a lox and bagel lunch for $7.00. The
program will feature a film and will begin at 12:30 PM.
Did
you miss the documentary The Ritchie Boys? This compelling documentary recounts the story of 10
Jewish intellectuals who were expelled from Nazi Germany, only to return during
World War II to use their intimate knowledge of the country to wreak
psychological havoc on Hitler's Nazi forces. Trained at Maryland's Camp
Ritchie, these German refugees were a strange sight in the U.S. Army, but their
contributions to the war effort were heroic and invaluable. The
stories these men tell about their war experiences are harrowing and
humorous. This is a part of World War II that is not very well known.
Announcement: After ten years as coordinator of this
group Charles Luner has turned the duties over to a new person. Mark Turner,
co-chair of the Lifelong Learning Committee, has assumed the duties of
coordinator. He looks forward to meeting you at this meeting.
If
you plan to attend on December 5th, please respond by Monday, December 3rd, noon to Mark Turner so that we
can get an accurate count for ordering food.
