Lifeline for the Old
Lifeline for the Old (
Yad L'Kashish) is a sheltered workshop for the elderly and disabled in Jerusalem, offering work opportunities, support services, and intergenerational programs for several hundred men and women. About 40% of Lifeline’s budget is supported through sales of products created by their elderly and disabled clients. Lifeline has struggled in recent years with Israel’s decline in tourism.
Congregation Etz Chaim has been a longtime champion of Lifeline. We’ve become a “branch” of the Jerusalem Lifeline store, selling their beautiful, handmade products at Etz Chaim and other synagogues in the Midwest. Their products also sell at targeted conferences and shows in the U.S. The products we’re selling include challah covers, afikomen covers, matzah covers, mezzuzot, talit, kippot, jewelry and many more.
