Long-Range Planning

Chair: Uli Widmaier

The Long-Range Planning Committee develops recommendations regarding the future direction and needs of the congregation, such as personnel needs, programming needs, and/or facility needs. The committee's recommendations are reported to the Board of Directors for their consideration.

Every five years the Long-Range Planning (LRP) committee meets to develop a long term plan for the Congregation that identifies the programs, facilities, capabilities and resources required to achieve the congregation's goals over the next five years.

Over the past years committee members conducted 15 interviews with Congregational leadership, conducted a survey (in which congregants had the option to complete via the internet) that 20% of our member completed and organized & conducted 6 focus groups to review in depth the results of the surveys.

The LRP committee has reported details of their finding and recommendations to the executive committee and provided the board of trustees with a high level results overview. The members of the executive committee have reported the LRP results to the appropriate committees.

Two areas that received a lot of attention are the Social Hall and Congregational endowments. A committee has been established to see if the Social Hall is being used to it’s maximum potential and to make recommendations for improvements where needed.

I wish to thank the committee members, congregation leadership and membership in helping to plan the future of the congregation.
